The Pony Cape

Truffles' pony cape was something I made her so I could practice cinching saddles. It's soft and padded, and has pockets to carry things. It's held in place by a breast collar made from a Draft halter! It also looks super cute (but it's not hard when you have a good model). Not to mention it helps me estimate her girth.

It's also useful when she's on the line. If she cuts corners I can tap the cape to signal her out, instead of hitting her as I was told to do before. She responds much better to the cues with her cape one. She's a super pony either way, though.

And no, under no circumstances would I ever trust the pony cape to do anything but sit on her back. It's not meant for riding or anything else! It's there to be cute.

Ponies with Hats

Sorry for the delay! I finally went out today! Truffles was so happy to see me! Her and her sister boots, both!

I have some troubling news about Truffles. She has HORRIBLE fashion sense!  But she's so fuzzy she makes everything work! Nearly and inch and a half of fur! Come summer it's going to look like something died!

First Truffles models her favorite hat. Then, she shows off her homemade pony cape. I made it for her so I could better measure her girth growth. I also added some pockets so she can carry small things like a phone, water bottle, or book. I also use it as a training aid. If she comes too close on the line she gets tapped at the withers. Instead of whacking her the pad makes a small sound and she knows to get away.

And of course I got LOTS of pictures of her and boots.
She felt the need to park out and pose again. Silly pony does that all the time. There's Boots to the right.
Boots is SO DIRTY! Anyone want to help me give her a bath, haha! Boots is pregnant right now, so she wont be able to come with my to Tucson until weaning next year.

I also got some video of Truffles! She's showing off her pony cape.

Art times!

I thought I'd show off a picture of Truffles my friend did for me this Christmas. If anyone else wants to make their own picture just let me know and I'll be happy to add your picture to my blog! :)

This picture was made by my friend Pande ( DA page is http://pandemoniumchaos.deviantart.com/ ) I love it so much! One day I hope those could be a real photograph of Truffles. It'd make me so happy to see her pulling her own carriage.

Keep watch, tomorrow I'm going out to visit Truffles, I'll bring back pictures of her, of course! Maybe she'll show off her love of hats. She REALLY loves hats. If you wear one, she'll try to pull it off your head! Silly girl.

We've all earned 70$ so far for Truffles' shipping! Keep tuning in for more updates, and soon I'll add another horse model up for raffle. This ones already painted, but he's certainly a gorgeous boy who needs a home!

Thank you for clicking!

I enjoy clicks! :D Thank you for clicking! So very, very, very much. You know why? Because it means people care! And can spread the word to join me in the trip to saving Truffles.

This click brings me one step closer to my goals of having lots and lots of clicks! More clicks means more love! More love means more art, and more art means more clicks! YAY!

In all seriousness, thank you for clicking that link. :3 I'm trying to turn DA views into blog views so I can one day transport my pony, Truffles, to come live with me in Tucson to be trained. If she's not then I'll only be able to stand by and watch her become a two year old broodmare. I'm desperately trying to raise the funds to bring her with me, so I thought 'why not, if people see then they might care to help.'

Truffles is a Silver Black Dapple Tobiano Splash Shetland Quarter cross that was born summer of 2010. I've been working with her since last summer but have maxed out the level of training I can possibly provide her on my own. Soon I will be moving to Tucson where I have the possibility of enrolling her in professional training so that one day she can be a driving pony.

If I cannot move her to Tucson with me I will be forced to give up her lease and let her become a brood mare. While Truffles is a smart, pretty, horse I believe that horses are already over bred and suffering because of it. I would like very much to avoid adding another foal to the already crowded market. Specially at her young age. At this point in time I am doing everything possible to raise the funds quickly, as my deadline is this fall. I'm confident that somehow I will pull through, but every click to this blog helps me get her to Tucson all that much faster.

I will continue to update this blog with Pictures of Truffles every time I get a chance to see her. She's gotten so fluffy with her winter coat it's hard to believe the yearling in the first picture is the same pony as shown in the second and third picture!

If you'd like to do more than watch my blog can donate to my paypal account directly. I need about 1,000$ dollars to buy her flat out and ship her.
